Who We Are and Why It Matters

Helping Australian businesses understand their financial position through transparent benchmarking

Back in 2019, we started with a simple observation: most businesses had no real idea if their spending was reasonable. Sure, they could see their own numbers, but without context those figures meant little. So we built something different.

The Story Behind leyoxotive

It started in a coffee shop in Hobart. Two accountants discussing how clients kept asking the same question: "Is this normal?" Normal spending. Normal margins. Normal overhead. The problem wasn't lack of data but lack of comparison.

By 2021, we had developed our first benchmarking framework. Nothing fancy at first. Just aggregated data from willing businesses across Tasmania. The response surprised us. Business owners actually wanted to see how they stacked up against peers.

What began as informal spreadsheets evolved into proper analysis tools. We expanded beyond Tasmania throughout 2023 and 2024, building relationships with businesses across Australia who trusted us with their financial data.

What Guides Our Work

These aren't poster values. They're the principles that shape our daily decisions and the way we interact with clients.

Privacy First

Your data stays anonymous in our benchmarks. We've turned down partnerships that would have compromised this. It's not negotiable.

Practical Context

Raw numbers mean nothing without industry context and business stage considerations. We compare apples to apples, not to oranges.

Honest Conversations

Sometimes the data shows uncomfortable truths. We share them anyway because that's when real improvement begins.

How We Actually Work

Most benchmarking services collect data and send you a report. That's where they stop. We go further because a report sitting in your inbox doesn't change anything.

Our process starts with understanding your specific business situation. Industry matters. Growth stage matters. Geographic location matters. We filter our comparison pool accordingly.

Then comes the analysis session. We walk through the numbers together, explaining what the variations mean and which ones deserve attention. Some differences are strategic choices. Others are red flags worth investigating.

Follow-up happens quarterly for most clients. Markets shift, businesses evolve, and yesterday's benchmarks become outdated. We track changes over time to spot emerging patterns.

Ready to See Where You Stand?

Most businesses wait until there's a problem before seeking benchmarking. The ones who benefit most are those who check in regularly, treating it like a financial health checkup rather than emergency medicine.
